Getting in the press

Getting your story published by the media is not a black art, but knowing what makes a good news story, and writing it in a way that editors like, needs a little practise.  We can help you to ‘see’ stories happening in your company and develop them into articles and blogs that journalists will want to use.  We have media contacts around the world, so whether you’re looking for publicity at home or across the globe, we can help.

How it works
By Steve Jordan, Managing Director

There’s no great mystery to it.  I know because I am an editor myself and I rejoice when someone sends me a good story that I can ‘cut and paste’ straight into the magazine – more or less. Every editor of a trade or business journal in the world is the same – they just want an easy life.

So, here’s what you do.  You select an appropriate publication, write the editor a non-promotional story that the readers will find interesting, that’s informative, maybe a bit funny if that’s appropriate, and that alerts the readers to what you do.  Send the story to the editor with a high resolution picture that will make the page look good. No editor will be able to resist.  Presto!  You have become a published author.

Why should you bother?  Because you are subtly promoting your company and showing it to your potential customers as an expert in your field.  It will improve the awareness of your business and help you to create or reinforce your company’s brand. That’s got to be good hasn’t it?

Once written, there’s no reason not to send the same story to other editors. They all have the same problem and are grateful for any relevant, well-written contributions they receive.

It sounds simple, and it is, but you need to have the knack for writing; in my experience very few people do.  That’s why we make a business of doing it all for you.  Why not give it a try?
